♾️ Intro: Spiritual Protection Primer

Today, we’re diving deep into something significant on our spiritual journey: Spiritual Protection Practices. And as we explore this, we’ll also be shedding light on how these practices help us navigate and overcome what we sometimes experience as “spiritual blockages“.

She was feeling comatose, staring blankly, overwhelmed by the fear and uncertainty swirling around her, absorbing all sorts of energies like a pinball. Many of us, especially sensitive and empathic, can relate to feeling unsettled and ungrounded in these chaotic times. But there’s good news! Just like Rory began to discover glimpses of hope and possibility, we can all learn how to stay connected to that inner calm and purpose.

Our spiritual practices are the key to protecting ourselves and staying aligned with our spirit’s intent. Spiritual protection isn’t about building a fortress around ourselves but cultivating an inner awareness that allows us to move through life’s challenges with grace and power.

So, how do we, as sensitive, empathic, and intuitive beings, shield ourselves from the chaos and struggles we encounter personally or through those we care about? It starts with understanding that the protection we seek isn’t a physical shield but an awareness-based protection. These spiritual practices empower us to fulfill our spirit’s intent while navigating the “circus and the chaos” of the world. Our aim is to stay connected to possibility, even amidst uncertainty, by using our spiritual guides, teachers, and practices to take control of our experience of being alive.

the Villain

Through her journey, our friend Rory began to understand that there’s a primary “villain” we all face, and that’s delusion, especially fear-based delusions. Our outward senses inform this “Villain,” which often doesn’t give us an accurate picture of reality. Delusion comes from our perceptions of external circumstances that we sometimes can and sometimes cannot control.

The crucial first step is discerning whether a situation is within or beyond our control and learning when to accept it.

The weakness of delusion, its “kryptonite,” is truth, objective truth, and reality. Spiritual growth and development practices are grounded in this objective reality, helping us differentiate between our mind’s often fearful opinions and objective solutions.

When we talk about spiritual blockages, often, they are rooted in these fear-based delusions that cloud our judgment and prevent us from seeing things as they indeed are.

the Psychic Arts

The very first spiritual practice that offers protection is learning and training in the psychic arts. Fortunately, Rory had begun this journey, starting to distinguish between her thinking mind and her intuitive knowing. The psychic arts include intuition, ESP (extrasensory perception), and mediumship.

Through mastery, we can begin to sense the future, as it “casts a shadow before it”. We also begin to discern what we can control – our actions and responses. Rory found that her emotions calmed as she quieted her mind through meditation, making her less reactive and more responsive.

As empathic beings, we often absorb others’ energies, but through psychic training, we learn to recognize that much of what we perceive might be influenced by our personal and tribal truths, leading to misinterpretations. The ability to discern between intuitive knowing and our mind’s logical processes is a spectacular protection tool, making us “unmessable-with” in recognizing the truth.

Fear blocks our psychic senses, so as we quiet our minds and calm our emotions, fear subsides, creating a clear space where we become forewarned about potential futures, allowing us to consciously choose our next steps. This increased awareness is a powerful antidote to spiritual blockages that stem from a lack of clarity and foresight.

the Healing Arts

While I didn’t initially start my practices to be a healer, the ability to restore harmony where disharmony exists has become a profound gift.

This is how we begin to attract, manifest, and materialize the world we desire. We live in a world beyond our direct control, but we aim to fulfill specific lessons for our spiritual growth. By grounding ourselves and finding that “eye of the storm” through practices like meditation, we enter a space of attraction where “like attracts like”.

Rory’s self-inventory showed that everything in her life, consciously or unconsciously, she had attracted. Spiritual growth is about consciously making choices that attract what we truly want. We attract possibilities, but then we must take action to manifest opportunities and materialize results. In this context, power is the shrinking gap between our desires and their realization.

Spiritual protection and growth ultimately enhance our ability to directly materialize what we want in ever-decreasing amounts of time, consciously choosing what we want to create for potential futures. Spiritual blockages can often manifest as difficulties in attracting, manifesting, and materializing our desires. Engaging with the healing arts, even in the sense of self-healing and restoring inner harmony, helps clear these blockages.

Intentionality

Our understanding of personal truths, tribal truths, and objective truths is vital. Not everyone sees the world from our perspective. Our ability to navigate this world lies in using our awareness to tap into others’ intentionality, allowing us to be flexible and responsive rather than reactive.

Much of the suffering we see is a reaction to circumstances. Our goal is to refuse to suffer the circumstances and consciously create our sense of self, our awareness of our spirit’s intent – our “why”. We are here to experience love and fulfill lessons for our spirit’s evolution. By staying tapped into our personal mission, informed by consciously created intention, we gain a sense of the future and can consciously choose our next steps.

Spiritual blockages often arise from a lack of clear intention or from intentions that are misaligned with our spirit’s true purpose. Cultivating intentionality acts as a guiding light, dissolving these blockages.

Practice to Power

Practice creates power to close the gap between what we want and have. It starts with being the person we want to be, doing what that person would do, ultimately leading to the desired results.

Being in a state of feeling expressed through the three Rs: Right Meditation, Right Thought, and Right Action.

“Right Meditation” clears the “blackboard” of our minds from all the mental clutter, allowing us to tap into stillness and consciously choose what we place back on that board – our plan.

“Right Thought” involves seeing, feeling, and experiencing what we want to bring about, leading to a clear vision of the appropriate next step, guided by that inner “yes” that feels right, not the limiting “no” of fear and past conditioning.

“Right Action” is taking that actionable decision immediately. The result of our actions is karma – cause and effect. Our spiritual practice is about determining the best next step and trusting that it will lead us where we want to be and bypassing spiritual blockages can often be overcome by consistently applying these three Rs, clearing the mental noise, aligning our thoughts with our desires, and taking inspired action.

Spiritual Freedom

For seekers, the ultimate spiritual practice for protection results in spiritual freedom by training our minds, accepting our power, and being the one who brings about the results we desire, regardless of external circumstances.

By being aware, present, and conscious of our spirit’s intent, we can recreate our intentions and the context of our experiences. This inner guidance serves us as we follow our calling. Yes, there will always be distractions and chaos, but by mastering our spirit’s intent, we can navigate them with greater ease.

Spiritual protection starts within, informing our next steps and knowing that we are never truly alone unless we choose to be. Overcoming spiritual blockages leads us to this state of inner freedom, where we are empowered to create the lives we choose to create.
